You just can't fool anyone, anymore.

Last week I was out visiting with the staff at one of my customers.
I noticed that one woman cleaning for me, kept shaking her head in disgust as she was going about her job.

I stopped her and asked what the problem was. She showed me a dust rag covered with red threads and told me that there was a woman working in the office who wears a red sweater that seems to be shedding continuously and everywhere. My cleaner said that the red threads go from the desk, to the copier, to the ladies restroom, to the coffee machine and one spot in the cafeteria.
She says it's been like this for weeks and that by now the sweater should be the size of a mitten with 2 buttons!

I chuckled and told her she did a nice job.

Today, I was visiting this customer in order to pitch my Spring Cleaning, you need your carpets cleaned program and while walking through the office I noticed the woman in the red sweater.
Being a smart-ass, those that know me can attest to this, I went up to the woman and said " That is a great sweater!-- I'll give you $20 for it!"

She raised an eyebrow, looked at me like I was crazy and laughed. I said " I'm not kidding, I really admire that sweater and I'll give you $25 for it!" At this point I think I was starting to alarm her and I was ready to back off.

She pointed out that the sweater hangs off the back of her chair and that the wheels had run over the sleeves numerous times, ripping and turning them black and asked why I would want this!

I hesitated for a moment and she looked me straight in the eye and " It' s because this sweater sheds red threads everywhere, isn't it?"

I was lost for words ( not something that happens to me often) and then said rather meekly, "yes"

She let me have it for $10

I stopped by the building this evening and gave the sweater to my cleaning lady. She said something about burning it.
